The technical program typically features eight Technical Session periods, each consisting of three sessions, with up to four presenters per session. The program will also offer up to four transportation technology solutions sessions, focusing on innovative transportation solutions presented by our industry partners. Attendees can also look forward to potential technical poster session, roundtable discussions, and technical tours showcasing transportation projects in the Bellevue area.<\/p>\n<p>As the transportation industry continues to transform, we face pressing challenges in adapting to climate change, addressing equity, enhancing safety, and building a sustainable transportation system. Transportation plays a critical role in addressing these societal issues and provides ample opportunities for impactful solutions. The lead presenter is expected to make presentations at the Annual Meeting. Only one presenter per abstract will be allowed.<\/li>\n<li>Presenters are required to register for the conference and provide a copyright release prior to presenting.<\/li>\n<li>Abstracts must be submitted through the <a href=\"#form\">form<\/a> on this page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If your abstract is selected for presentation, you are strongly encouraged to write and submit a paper. Submitted papers will be eligible for special awards. There are three awards given for student and professional papers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Best Annual Meeting Paper Award \u2013 Recognizes the author(s) for the best paper presented at the Annual Meeting.<\/li>\n<li>Best Annual Meeting Paper Award by a Young Professional &#8211; Recognizes the author(s) for the best paper presented at the Annual Meeting by a Young Professional (35 years old or younger).<\/li>\n<li>Western District Student Paper Award &#8211; The award recognizes outstanding accomplishment in preparing independent and original research\/investigation of transportation engineering subjects by a Western District student member. The winner of the student paper award will get $500 and a free registration to the conference where they will present their paper in a technical session. The paper will be submitted by the Western District for the ITE International Student Paper Award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>More information about the awards and a list of previous Western District winners can be found at <a href=\"https:\/\/westernite.org\/western-district-awards\/best-annual-meeting-paper-award\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WesternITE.org<\/a>. Detailed requirements for paper submittals and presentations will be provided to authors once the program is compiled, abstracts are selected, and presenters have accepted.<\/p>\n<p>The schedule for
