Serving as your District 6 President this past
year has been filled with experiences that I will cherish
the rest of my life. It has been an honor to represent District
6 and recognize our ITE volunteers at our local sections and
chapters. I can not find the words to express all my thanks
to the District 6 Board members as well as to the committee
members for all the time they have freely provided to ITE
in helping to make this past year a success for our membership.
ITE is a volunteer organization and no one person can do it
all. I do need to especially thank our Past President Zaki
Mustafa for all his help and friendship over the years that
we have served on the Board together. I also wish to extend
my support and best wishes to our new District 6 President
Dalene Whitlock and Vice President Jennifer
Rosales.
If you were at the annual meeting in Hawaii
I know you will be talking about how great it was for years
to come. If you were not there you missed out on one of our
best meetings. There were more then 380 delegates with the
family night Luau hosting some 650 members, friends and family.
One of our largest family nights ever. The Hula and Polynesian
War/Fire dancing entertainment with Diamond Head in the background
set new District 6 standards for our annual family night.
Cathy Leong and her LAC truly showed us the spirit of"Aloha".
The District 6 elections
came to a close at the annual meeting. The ballots were counted
and Randy McCourt was elected to be as our newest International
Director along with Monica Sutter taking on the position as
our new Secretary- Treasure. Congratulation to both of our
election winners, along with a large ITE Thank You to Cathy
Loeng and John Kerenyi for volunteering and campaigning for
office. I also want to thank the membership in supporting
the By-Law and Charter revisions as they were also passed
allowing the District to move forward with future E- Balloting.
At this year's International meeting in Milwaukee
District 6 will be recognized for the quality of its newsletters.
Each year International presents two newsletter awards; one
award for the newsletter with a circulation of less than 250,
and the other for a news letter with a circulation of over
500. This year the Southern California Section newsletter
will be recognized along with the District 6 Westernite. Congratulations
to all.
As your President, I had the opportunity to
travel throughout the Western United States that make up District
6. During my visits to our local Sections and Chapters, I
had the pleasure to recognize many of the volunteers of ITE
that help to make our professional organization a success.
