ITE District 6 Annual Meeting 2004

On behalf of the 2004 Local Arrangements Committee, we invite you to travel to Sacramento for the 2004 District 6 Annual Meeting from June 20-23, 2004.

Sacramento has a rich transportation history as a primary West Coast destination for wagon trains, the Pony Express, riverboats and the first railroad linking California to the rest of the United States.  With this as a backdrop, we developed a conference program that offers a variety of stimulating technical programs, social events, exhibits and tours.

The meeting will begin Sunday evening with an Opening Reception that features an opportunity to renew acquaintances amid several special planned activities.  The Family Night event held on Monday evening will be at the California State Railroad Museum located on the waterfront in historic Old Sacramento.  We are working on several innovations for the technical program, including a "fourth track" of special sessions.

The meeting will be held at the new Sheraton Grand Hotel in the heart of downtown Sacramento.  The 500-room Sheraton Grand, located only two blocks from the state capital, opened its doors on May 1, 2001.  The centerpiece of the hotel is the renovation of Sacramento’s Historic Public Market Building, which was originally designed by renowned architect Julia Morgan, famous for designing the Hearst Castle.  The Market is the backdrop for 20,000 square feet of meeting space that will be used for the Annual Meeting.

The members of the Northern California Section hope that you will join us for an exciting and memorable meeting.

Sincerely,

Bob Grandy, Co-Chair                                      Steve Brown, Co-Chair
